I have been a Precision Door customer for years. I needed a tune up on my opener and new springs and new rubber seal on the bottom of the door. I personally think I was oversold on the work they did. $700 and half hour later...when all I really needed was a pulley replaced. Oh well. Update from customer 4/22/20: The GM called to explain the detail behind fixes that were required to make my door function "as new" once again. I now better understand why the work cost what it did and am satisfied with the result.

We were very happy with the immediate response to our request for a service call. Ed came out the following morning at 7 AM, and by 815 our garage door was once again functioning fully. We were sure we were going to have to replace a lot more parts than it ended up needing. Ed was very professional and helpful. Highly recommended!

Ed was great. He was knowledgeable, efficient, professional, and answered all my questions. I would highly recommend him. As for the company, I was not quoted an accurate price, but since every call is recorded, Ed was able to listen to my call and validate my recollection. I was quoted a service call fee of $110. And to do a “tune & lube,” they quoted me a fee of $49.95, for a minimum total of $159.95. When Ed came he showed me that their tune and lube service is actually $59.95. He then said the company applies an additional labor charge of $88/hour. They charge a minimum of one hour even if it’s a 15 minute service call to do the tune and lube, which I wasn’t informed of when I scheduled the service call. The initial sticker shock of $257.95 (when I expected $159.95) was addressed by adjusting the labor charge after Ed listened to my service call quote, which I appreciated.

The Technicians were very friendly and frank about the job that needed to be done citing the fact that the materials were original/contracted grade that came with the house over 10 years ago as a spring/coil broke and needed to be replaced as well as the cables on the track. Ed called me to tell me he could be there 30 minutes ahead of appointment time if I was available. The process took less than an hour. This is the second time I have used this company over the past 5 years.

I contacted Precision door to replace a broken torsion spring. Ed responded for the repairs. He pointed out the immediate issues as well as what he recommended for repairs to prolong the life of the springs and opener motor. I never felt pressure or up sold for additional repairs. I'm very pleased with the final product.

My service man was terrific - prompt, curteous, and looked over all the "parts" of the garage door. He spotted a bolt that fell off and fixed that. Said we were lucky the door didn't come crashing down. He also lubed the mechanism as well as doing what I called for him to do.

As a sole caretaker of a disabled husband, there is a lot I don’t know. Ed came to repair a garage door that wouldn’t operate. I stayed with him while he fixed the door and he gave me an education on how everything worked. He also installed an outdoor keypad that would open all 3 doors with different combinations (awesome). I had to move a car so he could program the third bay but the fob wouldn’t work. Of course he helped me with that as well. Excellent service, options explained, and I would trust this employee more than than any I have dealt with. Thank you PDS and Ed!

I really like the professional work that Precision door folks do. My 5 year old door had a major problem, was stuck in down, cable came off one side. A friend was able to move the door in the up position while we waited for our turn for repair ~ couple of weeks. Put up tarps to protect the inside of the garage. The 2 repairmen, Ed and Fran, had the job done in 45 minutes! Garage works even better than before. This is my second Precision door. Great company! JR, Leverett, MA
